This position handles incoming patient calls to schedule orders, checks the status of orders, answers general questions and handles patient concerns. Also, the Patient Care Consultant I may need to make outbound calls to inform patients of necessary information. This position requires the ability to perform clinical intervention and assessment of health status for pharmacy members.
Qualifications (Required):
Education:
-High School Diploma is required.
-Most qualified candidate will be a Certified Medical Assistant or possesses a college degree with willingness to acquire MA certification within a defined timeframe.
-Some college coursework is strongly preferred.
-Candidates who are willing to begin or continue college coursework are preferred.
Experience:
-1-3 years of any medical industry experience a plus.
-Exposure to writing and reading prescriptions a plus.
-Customer Service Experience in care and interaction with critically ill patients.
-Prior experience with focused disease management is preferred. Types of disease states include: HIV/ AIDS, Organ Transplant, MS, RA, Iron Overload, Crohn's, or other specific disease states is a plus
Knowledge and Skill:
-Ability to perform clinical intervention and assessment of health status for pharmacy members.
-Detail oriented
-Ability to prioritize and handle multiple tasks and projects concurrently.
-Demonstrated knowledge and proficiency in the principles, procedures and best practices related to this position.
-Strong verbal and written communication skills.
-Great analytical skills.
-Proficient level of software proficiency in using PC software to support activities, especially Microsoft Office
-Excellent interpersonal skills and the ability to interact well with all employee levels and customers.
-Demonstrates compassion for patients and takes ownership of task at hand using good problem-solving skills.
-Ability to work with confidential material and maintain confidentiality along with sensitivity to employees and customers needs and data.
-Excellent attention to detail.
Other (Required licenses, certifications, schedule flexibility/OT, travel etc.):
-Must have scheduling flexibility and be able to work overtime.
